LUUHC Newsletter 11/02/08

Heya,

 

Hope everyone has had a good term so far and the work isn’t getting to you all! Hopefully this will bring news of a few things to break up to boredom!

 

Firstly, we’re off on the second winter trip to Fort William on Friday. Bus leaving times will be 3pm and 5pm. Can those of you with a place on the trip please email me or post on the forum (I will start a thread) with your preferred leaving time. Although this really only applies if you need to be on the later bus. You’re leaving time will be emailed to you on Thursday as well as being put up on the forum. Can I remind anyone who hasn’t paid that Andy is on the warpath so we need your money as soon as possible, preferably in our pigeon-hole in the student resource lounge BEFORE Wednesday, cheques payable to LUU as usual.

 

The next Sunday trip will be to the Howgills and sign-up for this will be Wednesday 20^th February in the student resource lounge between 11.45 and 12.15 as usual.

 

But before that it’s the event you’ve all been waiting for…

 

This terms OTLEY RUN! Our “cult movie” themed run the autumn term was such a success (and no I STILL have no idea how a pint glass was stuck to someone’s head – must’ve been magic!) we’ve decided to have another one on Friday 22^nd February. We will be starting at 5 pm in Woodies then moving on down the Otley Road and this terms theme is your initials…

 

So for example mine are “KL” so I could be coming as King Lear or a Killer Lobster! Who knows!

 

I’m also going to remind you yet again about the AGM. It will be at 7.45 on the 5^th March. Anyone who wants to stand for a committee position or just come along and have a say in who takes over next year should come along. Don’t worry about standing if you feel you haven’t really been around so far this year – some of the currently committee only met at last years meeting!

 

We will also have our yearly photo competition at the AGM. Closing date for entries is the 20^th March so Abby has a chance to put them up on the website so you can have your vote. The categories are Sunday/Weekend Trip, Social Event and Winter Trip. Each section has an amazing prize so get searching through those photos and email them to Abby at webmaster@leedshike.co.uk or put them into our pigeonhole on a disc. Each entry should have your name and a “caption” or title for the photograph. Winners will be announced at the AGM.

 

Finally, we will of course be having our usual Wednesday social at the Vic from 8.30 so head on down. I hear last weeks visit to FAB after the pub closed was good fun so who knows where we’ll end up this week!
