December 2015

Hello Zachary:

It is hard to fathom that 2015 is nearly in the rear view mirror. This past month kept us on our toes with a wide variety of webinars, breakfast seminars, product improvements, and events.
We are planning to finish 2015 strong with a webinar with Dark Reading on December 10th at 10 AM PST/ 1PM EST. This webinar will focus on tactics to enable cybersecurity professionals to map threat infrastructure to help defend against future attacks. Last but not least, we will be returning to the SANS Cyber Defense Initiative Summit in Washington DC December 16-17th. Mark Kendrick, Director of Solution Engineering, will be hosting a session on how to See Threats Coming With DomainTools.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a happy New Year! Be sure to stay in touch in the interim by visiting our blog and following us on Twitter @DomainTools.

Sincerely,
DomainTools

October 2015

Hello Zachary:

It is hard to believe another month has passed - time flies when you’re having fun! October was chock full of industry events. The multi-talented Tim Helming (Director of Product Management) presented after Colin Powell at the FireEye Security Summit, where he explored using threat intelligence data to find patterns of malicious internet activity. We also continued our East coast conference streak and participated in the ISACA Cyber Security Nexus (CSX) in Washington, DC, again presenting on the power of domain profile data in fighting cybercrime ( see Tim's reflections on both conferences here). On the home front here in Seattle, we hosted a breakfast seminar with Recorded Future and Farsight Security. This interactive session demonstrated realistic strategies for incorporating OSINT (open source intelligence) into your threat investigations. We decided to share our kegerator and the Seattle Time Machine (a.k.a perfect replica of a certain DeLorean) for a meet-and-greet after the local SANS summit. Finally, we partook in the Hack Days phenomenon and came up with some great product ideas and workplace enhancements.

Although October was quite busy, November is sure not to disappoint. Tim Helming will be hosting a webinar to walk through our new threat investigation platform Iris on November 3rd. We’ll also be continuing our breakfast seminar series in Washington DC on November 5th. Keep a close eye out for our webinar with SANS Institute and a new and improved DomainTools Report.

Wishing you a relaxing beginning to your holiday season. Be sure to stay in touch by subscribing to our blog and following us on Twitter @DomainTools.

Sincerely,
DomainTools

September 2015

Hello Zachary:

As many of you know, September was a busy month here at DomainTools! Now that we have officially transitioned into Fall, we are doubling down on various conferences, seminars, and happy hours. Our team will be traveling east to participate in the FireEye Cyber Defense Summit 2015 (formerly MIRCon), ISACA CSX, and M3AAWG. We are also putting on a breakfast seminar tomorrow in Seattle at the Palladian Hotel. Finally, we are hosting a happy hour here at DomainTools HQ October 8th from 5:30-7:30PM; food, drink, ping pong and good company are all included! If you are interested in attending, feel free to register here.

Even with such a crazy October ahead of us, it is hard to imagine topping September: Not only did we collaborate with SANS and Dark Reading on two webinars (Making DNS Your Greatest Ally in Active Defense and Using Threat Intelligence to Improve Enterprise Cyber Defense), we unveiled our web-based threat intelligence product Iris . The release of Iris was a momentous event in our pursuit of supporting cyber security teams across the world. For our CEO Timothy Chen's thoughts on Iris, check out his blog post, and stay tuned for a webinar about Iris with our Director of Product, Tim Helming.

Now that autumn is upon us, we all aspire to stay dry here in Seattle and survive the nine months of umbrella weather! Don't be a stranger, stay in touch by visiting our blog and following us on Twitter @DomainTools.

Sincerely,
DomainTools

August 2015

Hello Zachary:

After an exciting August we are thrilled to take on a jam-packed September complete with webinars, breakfast seminars, and exciting product news. We are having a webinar with the SANS Institute (Making DNS Your Greatest Ally in Active Defense) on September 3rd, which will include our own Tim Helming and cybersecurity analyst Dave Shackelford. Tim will also participate in a webinar with Dark Reading ( Using Threat Intelligence to Improve Enterprise Cyber Defense) on September 16th joined by critically-acclaimed industry analyst Michael Osterman. If you are interested in attending either of these webinars please sign up via the links provided above.

As many of you are aware, August was the month of Vegas and cyber security conferences. We were honored to partake in activities at all three conferences: Blackhat, BSides, and DefCon. Tim Helming provided his guide to the cyber galaxy on ferreting out criminal infrastructure and attributing attacks in his BSides presentation titled "Open Up A Can of OSINT On 'Em". For a quick summary of Tim's experience and information on obtaining his presentation (or just for a good pun), check out his most recent blog post.

We're looking forward to Seattle's crisp, cold Fall and releasing our much anticipated cybersecurity investigation platform. For up to date information on DomainTools and industry news, check out our blog and follow us on Twitter via @DomainTools

Sincerely,
DomainTools
